Douglas Road Watermain #2, Metro Vancouver

Sandpiper is proud to have played our part in this major Metro Vancouver infrastructure project, which started in 2007 and was carried out in phases over the past 18 years.
Metro Vancouver constructed the new 15-kilometers long Douglas Road Water Main, replacing the original water main that was built in the 1940s. This massive watermain stretches from Burnaby to New Westminster.
The scope of this project included:
- Installation of 1.1km of 1,524 mm line and coated steel water pipe
- 2 air valve and blow down chambers
- 2 cast in place valve chambers
- Full road reconstruction
